hi all

just wanting an idea of cost/time of how much we should pay for airport taxi to Holiday inn are some taxi companies better than others?

You might be better off arranging a pick-up through Holiday Inn. Taxis can be hit and miss at the airport, especially if arriving very late.

Drive time about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic and driver.

Hi Fordy, we caught a taxi at the airport in August to Patong, it cost 400 baht so to Holiday Inn wont be that much more. When you exit the main doors go right and you will see the metered taxi stand.

Limo transport organised through the Holiday Inn would cost you about 1000 Baht. Metered Taxi readily available from the Airport cost us about half that.

I have travelled to Phuket a number of times and each time I have arranged for a driver to collect us at the Airport and take us to our hotel. I have found this to be much more reassuring especially at night and no need to run the gauntlet of the local taxi drivers. My driver is Chay and his email address is:

I also used him to take me around any places I need to go during my stay. He will not rip you off, is a very safe driver and speaks good english. Also, if you email him, he is very efficient at replying to emails. Have a great holiday,
