Palm Galleria/Apsaras/Ayara Villas/Andamania?

Has anyone stayed in one of these hotels lately:

Palm Galleria?

Apsaras?

Ayara Villas?

Andamania?

I think Ayara Villas are closer to shops+restaurants than Palm Galleria or Apsaras. But I am not sure about Andamania...

Any idea, how much is taxi from Apsaras/Palm Gallria to the Khao Lak center (La On Town)?

We%26#39;ve booked into the Andamania, but only because we will have a car for the time of our visit. It is quite isolated so unless the hotel operates a shuttle you will have to use taxis whenever you want to go out. OK for beach walking for pleasure, but we were rather hoping to walk via the beach to Bang Niang, but it seems there is a tidal canal to cross that could cause problems.

Palm Galleria/Apsaras/Ayara Villas/Andamania?

Ayara Villas is on Bang Niang Beach and you are within easy walking distance of restaurants, bars and massage places both on the beach and in Bang Niang itself. It%26#39;s about 5 to 10 minutes by taxi into Bang La On.

The Palm Galleria and Asparas are at Cape Pakarang where there are just a couple of beach restaurants and a pizzeria. It%26#39;s about 15 minutes to La On by taxi and cost about 400 baht I would think.

I understand from a friend wo had a look around the area that the Asparas is closed again, after opening last year with ';soft opening'; offers but attracted complaints because it was still a bulding site. I would check carefully with the hotel about completion before booking there.

The Andamania is on Khuk Khak with no restaurants nearby but the hotel provides a shuttle and a taxi would be about 300 baht.

Oh no, the Apsaras situation (being closed again) doesn%26#39;t sound so good... But I did not find anything about it being closed from their web page...

Do you know, is the shuttel buss from Andamania free?

Or is there extra cost for that?

Arandora, did you mean the taxi from Palm Galleria / Apsaras to La On village is 40bth one way? And 300bth from Andamania to La On village one way?

Any ideas how much is taxi ride from Ayara Villas to La On center with taxi?

The prices I suggested were one way. Not sure whether the Andamania shuttle is free or not. You could Email them and ask.

I don%26#39;t know what is happening at the Asparas. When my fiend went thre only a week or so ago, it was closed wit no sign of activity but a sign saying opening November 2008.
