Closest hotel to Suvarnabhumi Airport

I have an early morning flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport, and I was hoping someone could suggest what hotels are the best/closest to the airport.

Closest hotel to Suvarnabhumi Airport

Of course the by-far most convenient hotel to stay at would be the Novotel Airport hotel (lost-in-bangkok.com/eng/bangkok/CityofBangko鈥?/a>).

Another one close by is the Grand Inn Come Hotel (lost-in-bangkok.com/eng/bangkok/CityofBangko鈥?/a>).

however, transport to the airport is actually fast enough, especially in the early morning, that you could also stay in Bangkok itself.

It would e.g. also be easy enough to get there from something like lost-in-bangkok.com/eng/bangkok/ThongLorEkam鈥?/a> or one of the other hotels around there.

It really depends on your budget and where you would prefer to stay.

Cheers

Thanks Oliver,

So if my flight were at 6 am (and I%26#39;d want to arrive around 2 hours early), how much time do you think it would take via cab to get to the airport?

Has free shuttle from the airport to the hotel and back. Isolated, but if you are just looking for a place to stay the night close to the airport this should do and is way cheaper than Novotel Airport Hotel (on the other hand Novotel has 4 hour rates for those who just want a shower and a power nap)

But I support the post above. At that time, from, say Siam Square, to the airport will take you 45 mins max. Barring acts of God such as a major flooding of course hehe.

Are you arriving in on a flight and you are already in the airport area or are you in Thailand anyway and want the last night closer to the airport?

I leave on NWA pretty often from that airport and the flight usually leaves around 6 a.m. I stay in the city, the ride to the airport is only around 25 - 35 minutes from the Sukhumvit area (low number end.)

It depends on if you are arriving late and have an early morning flight or if you are at the end of your holiday. My choice is to spend the last night in the city, probably the Siam or Sukhumvit area so you can use the Skytrain. The airport is way out in the outskirts of town. If you did get settled in to the hotel and wanted to see the city you would waste money on taxi fares to and from the hotel instead of just walking!

You need to be at the airport 2 hours before departure. Some websites and airlines recommend 3 hours! I have a gold/platinum card so my wait in lines is pretty short.

I never stay close to the airport, some taxi drivers may not be familiar with that area. Here are some links that I stole from other posts. One link mentions a pick up by the hotel.

Probably 13 years now I have had a lot of early morning flights from Bangkok and never had a problem with getting a meter taxi to the airport, from old Don Muang or new Suvarnabhumi! Meter taxis from downtown Bangkok will either take the toll road or the bypass highway and you don%26#39;t pay the tolls. No surcharge from the city to the airport only pay the meter charge - maybe round it up to the nearest 10 baht for convenience.

Enjoy yourself in the Land of Smiles!
