Hi All,
Anyone been to the Night Safari recently?
Any feedback much appreciated.
Cheers,
Stewie.
Night Safari
This is one of the greatest mystery of Chiangmai. When it was opened, there was a lot of fanfare in Bangkok. Of course at that time, Thaksin was prime minister, and it was his pet project in his hometown. But when I tried to visit it in Chiangmai, nobody knew anything about it or where it was. All the travel agents did not have it in their itinerary. They said it is way out of town and there is no transport.
Night Safari
I would have a taxi booked for around six pm to take you there and have pick you up later around tenish this will give you time to get on the train and do the both sides of the night Safarie then you will have time to see the light show across the lake...Or you could spend all day or the afternoon then take in the night safarie (Its up to you) there is plenty to see and do there either the full day or hafe day..or just do the night time..Chris
Stewie,
You mean the one at the zoo, right? We were there at the end of July. Loved it. We didn%26#39;t have time to see and do it all. We started with the 2 safaris in English. The drivers were so funny. We still laugh about it. It is one thing I would do again. The zoo is gorgeous. I wrote about it in our trip report - First Family Trip Report Chiang Mai in the Chiang Mai section.
...Lol ...Ours kept say Hyjeana..In sted of hyena...And irons in sted of lions..So funny...Chris
I think that our trolly bus had loads of of people from japan on it...As we set of the chap said please do not use flast when takeing pictures of the animals...Got to the first animal ..The poor animal Was almost blinded all you could hear was flash after flash after flash...Just do not think they understand as to what he said....I was useing infra red and could see as clear as day...But must say it felt more like a lightling storm going on....Chris
The zoo and the Night Safari are two distinct locations. The zoo is in the city -- next to the Chiangmai University entrance at the foot of Doi Suthep. It is easily accessible. The Night Safari, on the other hand, is outside the city. I have no idea how to get there unless you have your own transport.
We went to a night thing outside the city. We had the same hyena pronunciation plus lots of sexy animals, etc. Still get a laugh with the kids.
There was another couple with us that we met at our hotel and we both took the taxi to the night safari...There names was Linda and kelvin..And as we got to the hippo%26#39;s .and he called out her name we burst out laughting as the hippo%26#39;s name was (Linda) of all names..lol....
