Here%26#39;s a nice depressing chart of the Australian dollar charted against the Thai Baht.
Wow that chart really is depressing!
We have 5 weeks to go ... hoping it climbs up a bit before then!!
Cheers
Chelle
me too, we head over in 26 days. hoping its a least 28 /29 bht to the dollar.
not looking good today its 25.7 bht
Ouch! Should have bought some thai baht when my hubbie said, but don%26#39;t tell him I said that. Seven and a bit weeks to go so hopefully it starts going the other way.
Wendy
Down to 25.2 baht to the auusie dollar for cash exchanged in Thailand.
Weird how our strong economy has shed 20% of it%26#39;s $ value in 2 months, while the US$ with it%26#39;s credit melt down, it%26#39;s unemployment spike and being in a recession keeps getting more valuable :-/
I should have paid more attention to economics at school.
This is not a good time for Aussies to visit Thailand as far as expenses are concerned. It%26#39;s just like having a 20% tax added to every baht you spend, in comparison to the exchange rate in late July. :-(
Well we can be hopeful things pick up a bit in the next few weeks ( yeah I didnt do well at economics either!)
Whe we were booking some accomodation ( that we are paying when we arrive in Thailand) the exchange rate was getting 30 - 31 bht per dollar, when I was there 18 months ago it was about 29... 25 is a big difference when you are there for 3 weeks!
Really have to tighten the belts up for the next few weeks now!
thanks for the feedback guys.. will keep watching..
Cheers
Chelle
