Where to stay????

Hi everyone, my husband and I are going to phuket in november for the 2nd time. Last year we stayed at the merlin beach resort , which was lovely but thought we%26#39;d try somewhere different this time. We like the look of the amari resort and the banthai?? has anyone stayed in either of these and which would you recommend?? Also is there much difference in a superior room and the deluxe room in either resort? Any other suggestions for accommodation would be great also look forward to any feedback thanks Jill

Where to stay????

Are you intending to book through latestays.com ? Would be interested in your experience if you do.

Amari and Banthai both get great reviews. Amari pool doesn%26#39;t look that big, the beach there may be rocky in parts and it%26#39;s a little away from the main strip, but walkable. Banthai is right in the heart of town, and the pools there look not huge but ok, and there are 3 of them. There%26#39;s a great virtual tour in the reviews section here that let%26#39;s you see the difference in deluxe and superior rooms. Deluxe pool rooms look great, but people do complain about the lack of privacy that comes with a deluxe pool view/access room.

I think you%26#39;ll be happy with either, but I%26#39;d go for the Banthai if the cost was the same, mostly because it%26#39;s an easier walk into Patong shops. But hey, you enjoyed the merlin, which is always a taxi ride in. If shopping is not your thing, you may prefer the relative seclusion of the Amari. Either way, you%26#39;ve picked a couple of winners.

Where to stay????

We stayed in Amari hotel on our honey moon here (August, this year). Can not just highly speak of this place since there are some certain good and not so good points about it. It is far enough away from the tourist trawl, yet close enough to walk. But we love it location coz it is rather quiet here while the similar hotel are located in the crowded and busy centre. If you are ever to Vietnam, though the Old quarter in HN remains the heart of big, busy city but it鈥檚 still an underdeveloped and peaceful, interesting place to stay). Both hotels get pools, clean and well maintained but over-crowded. I do not think couple would find their privacy there. Next time, we will look at other smaller and cheaper hotels.

Anyway, Amari is good, and we give it 4 stars.

Happy travels.
