Don't shoot me - another question re: protests

Hi everyone, please don%26#39;t shoot me and I know it%26#39;s another protest question BUT can anyone please tell me whereabouts these protests are being held?? We are planning on going to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Wat Phrae Keo (?sp) and Wat Benchamophit (?sp) - are the protests anywhere around these sites?

Thanks heaps again! Cheers Coco

Not sure exactly, however I am flying out of Brisane on Saturday for Bangkok for 4 days followed by 5 days in Phuket. Still looking forward to going even though we wont get very much for our $1 according to the news this morning.

All the problems and protesting are occuring at the Government House and Parliament. They are located several 3-4 kilometers from the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun. Wat Phra Kaeo with the Emerald Buddha is located inside the grounds of the Grand Palace. Wat Benchamophit is located close to the

Government House and Parliament..

There should be no problems with visiting the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun.. It%26#39;s best to stay away from Wat Benchamophit.. unless things calm down..

Cheers,

Thanks for that info Slowruner! Geez what would we do without Tripadvisor members hey! Good advice, will keep a closer eye on Wat Benmchamophit and best be cautious then.

Naej know what you mean about the dollar =\ but nevertheless it won%26#39;t stop us from doing what we planned on doing, just adding in a few extra hundred dollars.

Cheers Coco

NO-one will cause problems at the grand palace (except those horrible touts that hang around there).

The Palace is ROYAL and therefore pretty much sacred, as opposed to POLITICAL and pretty much fair game!
