what is Karon like??????

Hi all,

my family and I are looking at staying at the Centara Karon for 2 weeks on our next trip to Thailand (June 09). I have heard some mixed report about the Karon area from a couple of people who have been there. I am finding it hard to find some good info about Karon on the web (including T/A) as every time I type in ';Karon Reviews'; I get a whole lot of reviews about accomm in Karon, not about the area itself. Is there any body that can give me the goods on Karon????? The more advise the better.

what is Karon like??????

We loved it there, found Patong very touristy and really enjoyed returning to Karon after a day out. Still plenty of shops and restaurants and with Kata the other direction, very well located for a visit to Phuket.Beach very scenic and clean when we were there.
