Emerald... Walking distance?

Is the Khao Lak Emerald Resort in walking distance from the La On center? Or is the distance too long for walks?

And how much is taxi from Emerald to La On?

From Bang La On it is about 7 minutes in a taxi maybe 10 at the most. I would not walk it myself as there are a few sharp bends on the road to and from it in parts walking i would be a bit worried about traffic on this stretch especilally in the dark at night. You will find it is about 100baht in a tuk tuk.There is a great restaurant on the highway used to be called Poos now renamed the Hello Bar.

Now I see, it is right next to the Merlin resort?

I did read that they have some very good food in Merlin resort (but very expencive too).

Maybe there is a small shop where to get drinking water + maybe some light cola near Merlin or Emerald so no need to go to the Khao lak town every day? What do you think?

Definitely NOT within walking distance - unless you like hiking!

There are some local shops, bars and restaurants around the Emerald/Merlin notably Jo Seafood and a couple up by the highway.
