best place to buy silver

Hi there, im totally new to this forum so i hope there is someone out there that can help...i have been to phuket before and as my name suggests, i love phuket, this time around i would like to visit somewhere that i can get good quality silver where i wont have the wool pulled over my eyes. Any sugestions received with thanks:)

As with your name, I to Love Phuket, I just got back from 10 days there, had an absolutely fantastic time. Still trying to write my JBR, but i thought that I would let you know, I purchased some of the Tiffany copy jewellery, that is supposedly SS, but of course to cheap and to heavy to be, but I like the look of it anyway. I to wanted to get some nice silver jewellery, but unlike in Bali (chulak), they dont seem to have a devoted suburb to silver, my driver was a really nice guy and didnt do any of the pressure trips that I was expecting, however he did ask me if I wnated to go to the Worlds Biggest Gem Factory, well worth a trip if you like jewellry. Be warned tho, they do follow you around, and they are very high pressure sales people, i just decided before I went in, that I wasnt going to buy anything and that I was just looking and kept telling the guy the same thing over and over. I of course (being the shopholic that I am) end up buying a really nice silver ring, that seems genuine, as you get a certificte and receipt, and they convert the price to AUD so you know if you are getting a good price or not.

Thanks for replying and for the info, yes i agree with what you say about Bali, pity not the same for Phuket. Well i wont assume that i will be able to get good quality silver but if i come across somethig who knows, just have to be careful that i wont be taken somewhere for the commission!! So have you been to Phuket before? THe last time i went was in 2000 and 2004, both times in September, and experienced some bad weather, this time travelling mid August so hopefully the weather is a bit kinder and we can get out to the isalnds on day trips....i know August is a long time away but good to be prepared right:)

No it was my first time to Phuket, I took my 7 %26amp; 9 yr old, and also my dad with me.

We had a fantastic time, we stayed at Horizon Karon Beach, defintately great accomodation, I had requested a connecting room before I left and fortunately they were able to accomodate us. The facilties were fantastic, and the food was awesome.

We hired a driver of TA called Manop, he was also fantastic, very cheap and had excellent english.

We did the John Gray Twilight Hong tour and it was absolutely fantastic, my kids havnt stopped talking about it since they got back.

We did a marathon shopping trip for 11hrs, this was a bti tiring.

We didnt get to do that much dinner exploring as we had free dinners at our hotel and also all the rous that we went on included dinner. Went to one place in Karon Beach called Chilli and Shell and it was fantastic, spaghetti and fish and chips for the kids and curry for me, so pleased all.

Very happy with my Tiffany (copy), i have been wearing it in the shower and also the pool and no black or dullness. (YET). Also my ring is still holding up.

Not sure where we will go next year, but looking forward to planning it thats for sure.

Weather, had a couple of rainy days, but we hd lots of fun geting caught in it ...

thanks for the info, sounds like you had a great time, thats what holidays are for, Phuket is a great place for so many reasons, i wont start the countdown for a while but the end of the year will be here before we and no it. Thanks again and i will keep in touch!

some will accept it.. some wont..
