I will be travelling from Bangkok to Hua Hin in early November. I have been told to get taxi. Is this the best way to get there and if so how much should the fare be?
How to get from Bangkok to Hua Hin -
I have reserved a car with driver by budget, this year. From BKK to Hua Hin and back. Yhe cost was 3900 baht. Or you may drive by yourself (it0s chepear). Try www.budget.co.th.
Or try a fly from BKK.
If you prefer bus (cheapeast way to go to Hua Hin) you have to go to Southern Bus Terminal You%26#39;ll spend about 3 hours and half. There are buses every 40 minutes.

Forget renting a car to drive to Hua hin.
From Bangkok Airport taxi and limousine services available 24/7, takes about 2.5 hours, no need to book. Limousine worth the extra for comfort.
If you want to pre-book there are varuious options, do go to the Hua Hin forum section as many more tips there.

There are also the express buses from Bangkok itself plus the trains ( through trains can take over 4 hours ).
If from a hotel in Bangkok just get tour desk / concierge to arrange taxi / car+ driver or bus if you are on a budget.
orientalescape.com/thailand/鈥uahin.html does pre booke transfer car / limousine service from bangkok city or from the airport if you prefer to pre arrange at THB 2,600 per vehicle or 3,100 is a class Fortuner if you want luxury
Have a look in the Hua Hin forum, re transfers.
We just got back a week ago, and used Mr Roong. It cost 2000 baht each way, and was OK. The driver coming back went a bit fast for my liking about 130km/hr, going down around 110km/hr. It took 2.5 hours.
I did this once on a budget and got a minibus from Victory Monument. The fare was very cheap approx 100baht. We did get a flat tyre and I was pleasantly surprised when the driver rang for help and very soon a vehicle arrived to help him change the tyre. The buses leave as soon as they are full up with say 10 passengers. No booking just turn up. I would do it that way again.
Van from Victory Monument is the easiest, most comfortable and cheapest way.
Van yes that is it. Also you dont have to worry about timetables either. Its a constant process.
