Andaman beach suites.

We are staying at the Andaman beach suites soon and wondering if anyone knew what level the family rooms are on? and if they have lifts (stayed in hotels over seas where they have only had steps)

Also does anyone know of any good cheap resturants within close walking distance? so when the kids are tired we dont have to go far.

Is there anything eles close by that we should have a look at.

thanks.

Hi there, Anderman beach suits have lifts so you should not need to worry about about what floor you are on and in fact i would class it as close to 4 star as you can get.

We just returned 2 weeks ago and we were on the 8th floor and all the rooms on this floor were adjoining but i am not sure if they were classed as family rooms or not.

Nicky%26#39;s handlebar is a Restaurant and Bar and its at the end of the lane way where Anderman is lest turn left at the end and its across the road and the food is sensational and cheap.

Or turn right at the end of the lane way and there are about 15 restaurants that set up in the car park area every night that are good and cheap.

Also at the end of the lane way there are food vendors and a very good pancake lady that%26#39;s there till about 930pm each night, she has all flavors including Nutella!!.

Its a bit of a walk back into the heart of Patong for the kids (about 12 minutes) but its only 150 Baht in Tuk Tuk.

Its a great end of Patong though and much less suit sellers.

Cheers, Pete.

Mmmmmm pancakes, the street vendors have great satays as well. You can head out from the pool level go down the stairs and follow the path (comes out opposite the Club Andaman grounds), walk towards the beach and then turn left. Across the road down a little way are some great beach restaurants which we returned to a few times. Lee

You can also walk down the beach - just 5 minutes to your left and there%26#39;s an outdoor food hall (next to the grassy park on the beachfront)with lots of different stalls - doesn%26#39;t look very nice but its cheap and has great food - we%26#39;ve eaten there over a 10 year period and never got sick. They even do takeaways (spring rolls/crab cakes with sauces in a styrene container)if you want to take food back to your hotel. further on from that there are heaps of restaurants on and off the beach that have great food. Hope you have a great time.

one more thing - behind your hotel is rat-u-thit rd -if you go left and walk for 5 minutes on the opposite side of the road is a continental deli that has fresh bread/rolls, continental meats which they slice for you, olives, cheeses, fruit and veges and anything you want from home. They have a huge selection of wine from all over the world. Can%26#39;t remember the name of it but it came in handy after 2 weeks the kids just felt like ham/cheese/tomato rolls

WCE Thats the Deli Supermarket, fantastic shop isnt it, they also have Aussie pies. The restuarants your talking about are Loma Park restaurants, they closed down for a few months, finally it is having a complete renovation.

Nong James is also in there. Lots of the people from there have moved to in front of the Muslim cemetery until it all reopens, so now its a very busy area up that end.

Cathy

Wish I%26#39;d found that continental deli. There is also a sandwich bar where we had great bagels, although I think it was a similar price to home. Walk out main entrance, turn right at BYD lofts and it%26#39;s up a little way on your left, (I think it%26#39;s an internet cafe from memory). Opposite here is the Boomerang Inn where we took out laundry and just past here is Joys cafe.

Lee

Cathy, when is Loma Park re-opening? We%26#39;re off to Phuket on 18th December for Christmas and won%26#39;t know what to do if it%26#39;s closed!!

The restaurant block south end of Loma Park is supposed to reopen late November.

fantastic. thanks for all the replies, have written them down for reference.

Hi ,

We have stayed here 3 times , good location , breakfast is good and not busy and staff friendly.

If you walk out the front entrance straight ahead to Rat-U-Thit Road on the right there is an out door food court and also Chemist shop and Mini Mart.

If you cross the road and turn left not far up is Nicky%26#39;s Handlebars good food , on the same side of the road if you turn around and walk South on the corner of the intersection there is Family Mansion 2 which is ok.

Also mentioned previously by other posters if you walk down the laneway just outside of the hotel entrance to your right and then turn left down to the Beach Road, cross the road and walk along next to the Park and you will find a building with lots of eating places.

Just past this building is another road going down to the beach , when you get to the beach turn left and walk and you will find a few paces on the beach , Chez Bernard%26#39;s, Loma and Sabai Bach Restaurants, with tables and chairs on the sand.

Great place for watching the sunset.

Along the Beach Road there is lots of tour shops to book your tours.

Also when you get to the Beach Road from the Andaman

Beach Suites if you turn right and walk past the Gracelands Resort there is lots of new develpoment happening down that way with lots of eating places.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask .

Cheers,

Stewie.
