Spending Money to take ????

Hello All...My husband and I are going in 8th Nov. I am thinking of taking Aus$4000 (Between us). Since the rate is slowly going down from 32Bht to now 28bht I am a bit scare that it wont be enough. Is anyone out there can give me suggestion? I already paid for hotel, Flights,transfer and breakfast. We are staying 6 nights in Phuket and 7 nights in Bkk. Our most expense will be on Food, Tours, Shopping and drinks (Only my husband) I am not that much of a heavy drinker and cant handle the alcohol. Thanks ;)

4000$ should be heaps,as food is dirt cheap as long as you are not planning on 5 star all the way.Booze is also not that exy neither(2 and a half to 3 bucks a beer)as long as it%26#39;s not a dodgy nite club.Be aware of getting too carried away in the hotel and buying drinks and food on a regular basis there,as they add another 17% on top of the bill!7/11%26#39;s sell good cheap alcohol to take back to hotelShopping may be your down fall...being a girl!(take an empty suit case!)Wine is expensive in Thailand by the way..so wrap a few up in your luggage or get on the margerita%26#39;s there which are addictive!

I believe Phuket is probably more expensive than Bangkok but as the above said I%26#39;m sure you will have more than enough. If not your ATM card will work, just hopefully you get the bank that charges the cheapest fee%26#39;s along with your bank%26#39;s for the exchange.

You should have no problem with $4000 for the amount of time you have in Thailand. Many travelers do with a quarter of what your allowance is and that includes hostels too!

At the worse, figure out how much you would spend per day in an expensive city in your country and double it, use that as a guide. Thailand is much cheaper unless you always have to buy the most expensive meals, clothing and transportation!

$4000 Aus. is more than enough for a couple who plan to stay 2weeks in Thailand. Phukhet is proprably more expensive than Bangkok . However, with a $4000 Aus budget , you will have all the luxury spending in Thailand . I shall be visiting Bangkok in November, 2008
