Between Green Valley and Mae Jo Golf Clubs

For those who have played both, which one would you recommend to somebody who has not played any of them?

tq

Between Green Valley and Mae Jo Golf Clubs

Hello kkhkid, me again.Ha!! Planning another golf trip to CM?

Green Valley: One of the old course in CM, I think should be in town area as I remember we used to play this course once we touched down and straight away to this course. The course is long and plenty water hazard, green is fast but quite wide fairway and is flat course among CM.

Maejo: Quite a new course (2004 if not mistaken), originally is Longan Orchard, so play here around July you can have free longan if you feel tire ;-).Compare with Green Valley, Maejo slight narrow, if you ball come in rough, the Longan tree will in play and you might play ';Pakchiko';. Quite many holes you cannot see the green.

Course condition: Maejo better

Caddy: Green Valley better

Club house: Maejo better

Convenient: Green Valley nearer

Hope this can help.

When you plan to go CM? We are booking the flight via SIN end of this year for 8persons, this time will try: Green Valley, Chiang Mai Highland, Royal Chiang Mai, Gassan Khuntan and Lamphun (Will re-open after 31/Dec).

As for myself, I prefer Maejo as I never played a good round at Green Valley!!;-)

Another thing is Green Valley will be slightly expensive than Maejo especially weekend.

We played Green Valley and it was very nice. We also played Gymkhana. It%26#39;s only 9 hole, but a very nice course. http://www.chiengmaigymkhana.com/

Gassan Khuntan as Ping mentioned is AWESOME! We went to Gassan Lake City as well, but we lost a lot of balls in the over abundant water hazards there !! Here%26#39;s their website. http://gassangolf.com/gassan/html/index.html

There were four of us and we went to Thailand for 5 weeks and golfed almost daily in Chiang Mai, Nong Khai, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Korat and Saraburi. Our 2 favourite courses were Khuntan and Sir James - about 20 mins from Saraburi. (Used to be called Forest Hills). Here%26#39;s a website we used: http://www.sawadee.com/golf/coursenorth.htm

We also found that the Army and the Air Force courses were really reasonable - the Air Force courses being better than the Army ones.

Enjoy!

Hi Ping-i3 and IslandWest,

Yeh we are planning to go again to CM in mid-Jan 2009. This time its a 4 night stay and 4 games of golf. thanks a lot anyway for yr postings. We are using the same agent and staying at the same hotel as last time. We have more or less decided to play at CM Highland, Royal CM, Lamphun (known as Alpine now) and Mae Jo.

While waiting for this trip, we intend to play at Pekanbaru somewhere around Nov this year.Any of you familiar with that place?

Been anywhere lately ?

cheers

kkhkid: How much for this proposed trip? We are still waiting our normal CM tour guide%26#39;s offer, due to this time will go for 5 games, so the cost migh be higher. Our trip will be from 31st.Dec till 4th.Jan.09.

Sorry, never play at Pekanbaru before.

Recently no oversea golf, only playing at JB. Might need to go Taipei for business trip by end of this month and not very sure any possibility play a round there??

Hi Ping-i3

On single occupancy at a 3 star hotel for 4 nights it is RM 1190/ (abt 12,000 bahts). It is a winter special from Cueholidays, a CM company run by a Malaysian, Alan Cheng. Our trip is from 13 -17 Jan 09

I will report back once I get back from Pakanbaru on 13 Nov 2008. Likewise I will be happy to read your CM report esp on the CM courses.

IslandWest,

We are not playing Khuntan this trip. I would call this course a monster. My only memorable moment there last january was I got a par on that island green par 3. 2 of my mates gave up after losing 2 balls each to the %26#39;nam%26#39; But its a beautiful course and I hope I will have the chance to tackle it again, maybe jan 2010!

Cheers

This RM1190(Bht12000) is including: Hotel x 4nights, 4 round golf, transport to and from golf course, caddy fees and transport tips? Any massage after games?

Is Cueholidays request any down payment or not? Looks like Cueholidays offer is cheaper than our normal contact person. Plan to ask cueholidays for a try.

Ping-i3

Unfortunately no massage. You know how much massages are priced there and then compare

So far they have not asked us for any deposit. For the last trip we only paid on arrival at CM. So I presume we only pay them there as before.

You can google cueholidays and e mail them.

Cheers

kkhkid: Thanks for the information. Already sending e-mail to ask them give me a quote.
