You can also take a ferry to surat thani ( mainland) what takes about 1 hour and then a taxi what was 3000 bath one way...depending how many there is of you, this might work out cheaper than flying.
You could go by boat and bus... it costs about 600 baht from Samui to Krabi... it takes 1 hour and half of boat and about 4 hours of bus... including transfer and all stuff i think it takes about 7 hours.
