First time to Thailand! Any advice welcome

Hi,

I%26#39;ve just booked a trip to Thailand for April 2009. I%26#39;m travelling with my girlfiend and we%26#39;re after as much advice as possible as neither of us have been to the country before.

We arrive in Bangkok on the 5th April and we%26#39;re staying for three weeks.

I%26#39;ve already booked flights to Phuket which leave Bangkok on the 7th April. We plan to spend 7 nights in Phuket and i%26#39;ve been looking at the Boomerang Cottages in Kata.

After this i%26#39;m a little unsure!

We%26#39;d both like to spend a few nights at Railay after leaving Phuket and i%26#39;d be interested in some hotel suggestions. Also how easy is it to get to Railay and how much does it cost? Is there much to do in Railay in the evenings, bars, restaurants ect...

We then plan to travel to Koh Samui and spend the last week in Chaweng. Not picked a hotel yet and unsure the best way to travel to the island. Is it easy to get to Krabi airport from Railay? Again if anyone could advise on cost and transfer times it would be greatly appreciated.

We%26#39;re both approaching thirty and like nice beaches, culture and good food.

Any suggestions are welcome!!!

Many thanks, Mark

Don%26#39;t waste all of your time at beaches! See one beach you almost see them all! If beaches is all you want you don%26#39;t have to leave Britain at all!

Head up to Chiang Mai after you finish with your Phuket bit, see some of Northern Thailand. You will be able to take some tours to Chiang Rai, Golden Triangle Area, hill tribes, see night market and Long Neck Women, ride elephants. Visit some temples and national parks.

Even in Bangkok and Chiang Mai you can get a suntan - Thailand has summer type weather all year long!

For Bangkok choose a hotel near the Skytrain so you can get around town easier.

Have fun.
