We are going to Thailand in November staying at the landmark in Bangkok then Chiang Mai then to Hua hin.
Im taking a small laptop , dont want to pay silly hotel money for internet . When in Bangkok last year there was a bar next to the bell aire princess ( think it was gullivers) that had free wi fi . Does anyone know of any where else?
Also does any one have any info on the best data sim to use. I read somewhere of a PAYG sim that comes with much data use included ( I could use this for internet on mobile phone or even laptop too), forgot what it was called now.
Any other ideas for free or cheap wi fi?
I would have thought its safe enough carrying and using a laptop around Bangkok providing I dont start waving it about at 2 in the morning, would others agree?
Thanks
Mark
Free wi-fi or PAYG 3g sim?
If memory serves the landmark has free access in the coffee shop.
I also use 1 - to - call SIM and connect to the internet using the AIS internet connection via my mobile.
Others may have additional information.
Enjoy your trip

Most of the McDonalds have free wifi!
Hotel in Pattaya (A/C, HW, Cable TV, private toilet/shower) that I use is 600 baht low season, 850 baht high season has free wifi in all the rooms! The high price you pay for the Landmark and no free wifi- tsk, tsk tsk!
